Information on the processing of personal data pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR.

Controller
The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
The controller’s contact details are loading …Principle
This website is a private, non-commercial project. Personal data are processed only to the extent technically necessary and for cookie-free audience measurement. No cookies are set for tracking purposes, and no data are sold to third parties for advertising.
Hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider. The provider is:
Hostinger International Ltd.Švitrigailos g. 34, 03230 Vilnius, Litauen
On our behalf the host processes in particular access data (see “server log files”) that arise when the website is called up, and provides the infrastructure required for operation. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the online offering securely and efficiently). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
Server log files
When this website is called up, the host automatically records information transmitted by your browser in what are known as server log files. These are generally:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- the date and time of access,
- the name and URL of the file retrieved,
- the browser used and, where applicable, the operating system,
- the page visited previously (referrer).
Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in order to ensure trouble-free operation and the security of the website. These data are not merged with other data sources and are deleted after a short period.
Audience measurement with Pirsch Analytics
For the statistical evaluation of website use I employ Pirsch Analytics, a cookie-free, privacy-friendly web analytics service. The provider is Emvi Software GmbH (Pirsch Analytics), Germany.
Pirsch works without cookies and without persistent identifiers. To recognise returning visitors within a single day, a non-reversible hash is formed from the IP address and user agent; this hash changes daily and is not stored. The IP address is not stored, and no cross-device tracking takes place. What is collected includes the pages called up, approximate origin (country/region), referrer and browser and device class — in aggregated form that cannot be traced back to an individual.
Beyond the mere page view, individual events within the page are counted in order to see which content is actually used: playing a pronunciation in the glossary, and operating the interactive elements in the explanatory artefacts. What is transmitted is solely the name of the event and the visible label of the element concerned — no input, no identifiers and no information that could be attributed to an individual.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a privacy-friendly analysis of usage behaviour in order to improve the offering). Since no terminal-device information is stored or read beyond what is technically necessary, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required. Pirsch’s servers are located in Germany and the EU.
